Acquire the Fire Houston

This weekend I got the priveledge of going to the Acquire the Fire event in Houston! (It was my first one) and boy oh boy it was so awesome! God is so incredible, but that does not even describe the gist of it. It was about a 6 hour drive and we got home around 4:00a.m. this morning. :) Summary: great weekend.

Unfortunately I also did 3 blogs from my phone thinking that you guys could see what I typed, but unfortunately for some wierd reason it cuts off like half of the text hmmm... maybe jake will figure out why that is, cuz he is so smart.

This morning at church the message was on the power of our words... I think that is always a good reminder, because I think the society as a whole places a lot less stress on how they are truly so powerful. What you speak has either life or death in it...

This last week has been really crazy, but God kept giving me the strength to keep going. I became the ACA (Assistant Core Advisor) for my dorm room, which basically means I am the leader person of our room and I do stuff for our core advisor. With that job comes many more responsibilities than I anticipated or even knew about, but Praise the Lord, I know God is going to use me for His glory in it all and to speak lots of truths into the girls' lives.

My mom and sister have sent me a package here, and let me tell you... it is pretty much like winning the lottery to receive a package here. (basically a wonderful experience) Thanks Mom and Dad, and Nicole and Jeff! I have definitely been making and eating and using all the stuff in there!!!

Next post I will try to do real pictures. Tonight is the Hopeline where kids call in all over the U.S. on Dawson MacCallister's radio program about problems and struggles they are dealing with. I am pretty excited about that, but I gotta go do my homework and try to finish it before training at 6 tonight!!! They really really keep us busy here... actually more than ever this semester than ever before in Teen Mania's history I have heard. Cool dude. Lata

From eating like a pauper to eating like a king... Well sort of

So... After already feeling guilty enough about all the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, tonight i had an opportunity to have a belgian waffle at the local coffee house thing here. It was pretty good, although NOTHING can beat my moms or sisters and jeffs waffles. ... Nothing. But i just wanted a slight taste of home:) i love and miss everyone and home cooked food... Although i am regretfully enjoying the pb and j...

So here at the HA, if you dont want to eat the main course, they have the option of peanut butter and jelly... That would not be so bad if i did not already get into the bad habit of eating them for dinner or a sweet dessert... Yea. Not good. So now i am averaging one a day and i dont know what to do. craziness...

Life at the H.A. has gone by quick this week. (hopefully that pattern continues...) I am already looking forward to coming back home to MN, and also going to AK for peaches and veggies and gardening and family!
It has been pretty hectic here, but on the down times we have fun. Here are some more pictures. I am starting to get home sick:)

This morning (saturday) I took my free time to make a nice juice blend of carrots, cucumbers, celery, apple, and an orange lol it tasted really good!

Today was a lovely day and a much more eventful day than sitting in sessions and taking tests all day :) After corporate exercise this morning, Dani and I decided that we did not want the frozen french toast being served in the cafeteria, so we cut up some apples, banana's and grapefruit to make a mini fruit salad in our dorm room... we then decided we would make it fun and make a little table too haha it was pretty nice (and healthier too)

After that, we had worship, then got to do a fun ground ropes course! But before I left for the ropes course, Dani and I chopped up some veggie's for our split pea soup we were making in the crock pot for dinner tonight instead of the cafeteria food :) When we got back from the ropes and lunch, our room was pleasantly filled with great smells haha and people thought we were crazy.
My friend Nancy nicknamed me "Greens" for the Greens powdered drink I drink minimum of 3x's/day lol and now alot of people are asking me about health... it is pretty fun! I just got done with a session and headed over to the G.E. center to update this thing again, but this time with a few pictures! Dani is behind me just working away...:) And after here, we are heading back to our dorm for our tasty split pea soup lol and then going to service/session tonight!
It has been a fun day :)

The Secret Killer: Complacency

Last night I heard my favorite teaching thus far. Ron Luce spoke on complacency in Christians today, and it was so convicting and also the annointing of God just completely fell on me to be more compelled to not allow complacency in my life even more. Jesus tells us to die daily, take up our cross and follow Him. Following God takes action and means to follow HIs teachings. If He is TRULY the Lord of our lives, then He would be our master. Lord= Master. (lol one time my brother nate talked about this to me too and it has just stuck with me). If God is our master, then we OBEY His word. No one who has ever changed the world has lived a life of complacency. We are not called to be in GOd's Army and live complacent lives. We are supposed to be different. Held to higher standards for sure. I have noticed that when one truly falls in love with Jesus, they fall out of love with the world and want no part of the world.
God is a HOLY God (I think this statement has become way too casual...) and the only way He can abide in us is if we do not grieve Him. Therefore, our minds and thoughts need to be like a sanctuary so He can dwell there. Basically our flesh needs to be put to death. Wow. It is not like I have never heard this before, it is just that in the process of just becoming more broken for God and wanting Him more than anything else, I am now seeing how I lived a complacent life. We are called to a standard and too often we sacrifice God's presence and annointing in our lives just for the temporary satisfaction and convenience of this world. It is really sad when we think about it. Are we really gonna let the devil win? How are we supposed to expect to see the world change if we can't even change ourselves? This life is not about us...Just some thoughts I have been thinking and that I cannot let go out of my head...
Anyways, THe H.A. is going very well, I am growing so much spiritually and it has definitely een a push to keep going on such little sleep and so much exercise, but God is continually giving me the strength to push myself 100% in it all. All I want to do is live for God with all of my heart.

Too much to say... not enough time....

Wow. SO much has happened since I have started at the H.A. (Honor Academy) and I only have 15 minutes allowed on here per day, lol now prob more like 13 haha anyways, I almost do not even know where to begin and it has only been like 3 days! I will admit, up until yesterday night I was still very skeptical about this whole thing and wondered why God wanted me here in the middle of nowhere:) lol well that all changed last night! God is BREAKING me. I am changing into an even more on fire for God young woman and am already growing alot spiritually. I am so thankful to God that I am here. He made the way. Wow, I have so much more to learn and grow though.

Now, as for how gauntlet is going ( the 1st 2 weeks here of intense training) it is going VERY well:)
We have had 2 mornings of corporate exercise so far (12 more to go) and are up by 4:40ish to be out at the field by 5:00a.m. We have run 1.2 miles each morning and it is very likely to increase to much more soon--maybe tomorrow:) Even though I do not enjoy running, God has been giving me the strength and since Ihave been relying on Him for the strength and energy it has been a breeze for me. Praise God! I can't wait to go harder.
So far, ever since last night I am finally starting to thrive here.... God is taking me to places I have never seen before and using me.
I know I am a leader, and this training has already brought out more good characteristics in me. God is soooo AWESOME! I am so thankful to be here. He is my source of strength, and I know I can do ANYTHING with Him!
I have 2.5 more min left so I might have to finish this tomorrow if I get a chance...

ORANGE BLOCK started this morning which means a more strict schedule to get out of our old habits... like no texting, no sugar, no ipods, lots of stuff like that, etc... no time to explain.

Lots of preparation, lots of packing (took a lot longer than I thought), and lots of excitement!
My dad, mom and I took a lovely road trip to get me to Texas. Mostly to see my Grandma in Iowa, and two brothers and their families in Arkansas, and partly just so I could bring down all of my luggage ;)

Saying goodbye to my sister for a year had to be one of the hardest things I have ever done... lots of tears cried, but I know God is going to do awesome things, and thank the Lord for cell phones right??? yeeea

Lots on my mind, lots of anticipation, lots to do before tomorrow's registration and gauntlet... I'll keep ya'll posted.
